Skinners’ History Workshop, 21st February 2023

A look through the Clerk's in-tray in the early nineteenth century

The aim of this workshop was to examine and discuss the various papers bought by the Company from Mr Daniel Chan in April 2022. There are 35 papers in all, dating from c.1800-c.1830 largely relating to the period when Francis Gregg II was the Company clerk. The papers relate to the Company's charities, Tonbridge School and the development of the Sand Hills Estate. Five members of the History Committee lead discussions of some of these papers, and have posted some documentation that was shared prior to the Workshop.
