Sir Thomas Smythe’s Charity – Recent Grants
At the recent April 2021 meeting of the Sir Thomas Smythe’s Charity the following organisations received grant awards:
Rubicon Cares, a Kent based organisation that offers specialist trauma counselling to victims of crimes, such as murder, rape, human trafficking and domestic abuse were awarded a grant of £3,000 towards accommodation costs to allow them to expand their free 1:1 trauma counselling provision.
Mental Health Resource, a Tunbridge Wells based organisations that provides safe spaces and person-centred mental health support for people with complex and enduring mental health conditions were awarded a £3,000 grant towards salary costs for experienced mental health staff to support their current lockdown remote telephone support services.
Sherwood Men’s Shed, based in Tunbridge Wells provides a warm and encouraging environment for older men with a variety of needs men to gain support in retirement, as well as person-centred mental health support for those with complex and enduring mental health conditions. They were awarded a grant of £1,100 towards set up costs for a project to refurbish the school shed at Skinners’ Kent Academy.
